The Cost of Admission Once we establish from your questionnaire that your family will be a good placement for a Da Vinci Puppy, and you determine that a Di Vinci Puppy is right for you, the expectations are as follows: A written agreement will govern our relationship and conditions that may effect the Da Vinci puppy. Some of the considerations are as follows : 1) In all circumstances a $500 reservation fee is required to hold your puppy or pick placement. This fee is non-refundable if you fail to complete the purchase. In the event that the breeding fails or we can not deliver what is agreed to, or accommodate an alternate request of your election, the fee will be promptly refunded. 2) Total cost of a show prospect or the top picks differs from puppies that do not have a AKC disqualifying fault. In each litter the number of top picks (the best of the best), puppies that do not have an AKC disqualifying fault and puppies that may possess an AKC disqualifying fault , varies. The number combinations of each classification has an effect on the breeders ability to cover the costs invested in a breeding. In many instances the breeder doesn’t make a profit and most likely will subsidize the total costs. Each category may or may not have candidates. Puppies that are top or most perfect picks are sold at a premium, those that do not have a disqualifying trait will be less , and those that may have a disqualifying trait , also referred to s pets , will be sold for the lowest amount. You will find the price variance depends on attributes or lack there of. Some breeders will require dogs that have a serious disqualifying fault to have a mandatory spay requirement to prevent the genetic imperfection from being passed on. The price range you are likely to find from ethical breeders is from $800 to $2400. Most dog owners do not require the level of perfection required for a breeding program. It is unlikely that he untrained eye will detect imperfections that make or break a show dog. The important thing is that the puppy will grow into a healthy dog and a competent family member. If you are not the purest planing to compete in the conformation ring with an eye that has taken years to train, it isn't practical to pursue the premium show prospect. They all will be loving family members and companions, without physical limitation, no matter what you spend. 3) Our agreement will include language that if a Da Vinci puppy is to be bread it must be an AKC Champion prior to the breeding and have all appropriate OFA health clearances (i.e. hips, elbows,eyes,heart ) , as determined by the breeder. 4) Occasionally older puppies may be available.
